Presenting Concerns
Experiencing a challenging event may affect us psychologically, but the consequences can also be deeply felt on a somatic level through the event's impact on our nervous system. As a trauma and embodiment specialist, I believe that many concerns for which clients are seeking therapy are symptoms of deeper neurobiological, developmental, relational, and socio-cultural issues and adversities that, over time, have fostered and reinforced one another and are now manifesting as relationship concerns, mood and anxiety issues, addiction, eating disorders, chronic pain, and other trauma responses and patterns. I help you get to the root cause of your presenting concerns, which allows you to access both symptoms and origins in your therapeutic journey, and to attain deeper and more permanent healing.
Below is a list of issues and concerns with which I have clinical experience and for which I provide therapeutic care through individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy, or through self-care immersions. Many of these concerns are often interrelated, thus I take a trauma- and justice-informed, process-oriented, integrative approach rooted in humanism, honoring who you are as a whole person. I integrate body-centered psychotherapy, gestalt therapy, mindfulness, and other therapeutic approaches to help you attain your highest potential.
